Reportable Securities
The set of security types that must be disclosed in a 13F.
The SEC publishes the "Official List of Section 13(f) Securities" each quarter. It covers US-listed equities, ADRs, certain ETFs, equity options, convertible bonds, some closed-end funds and equity convertibles. Only securities on this list must be reported in a 13F.
Not included: foreign equities without a US listing, bonds, commodity futures, FX, private holdings and crypto assets. This gap should always be kept in mind when interpreting hedge fund portfolios.
